What is the difference between Neon and LED?

What is the U.L. Certified neon sign option?
We are a U.L. Certified Neon Sign Manufacturer which allows us to offer the option of making your Neon Sign as a U.L. Certified product. Click Here for a detailed description of this option.
What are the different Backing Options available on my sign?

Do you offer a Dimmable Option for your Neon Signs?
We do have an 8kv dimmable neon power supply available for purchase on our website here. While this power supply will work on most of our neon signs, please call us at 888-526-8321 to confirm whether it will properly power the sign that want to order, or that you have already purchased. If you need to purchase a neon sign with a dimmable option, the additional charge would be $35.00. Please call and place your order over the phone with us to make sure that the upgrade is possible.
How far away will the letters on my neon sign be readable?
As a general rule of thumb, for each inch of letter height, your letters will be legible up to 38 feet away. The following chart shows some standard letter heights and their maximum readable distances.
How long will my neon power supply last?
Generally, a neon sign transformer will last anywhere from 5 - 7 years. Some will fail earlier, and many will easily last up to 10-15 years. A couple of things that may affect transformer life are heat, and electrical surges / consistency of your electrical supply. We offer a 1 year warranty on our neon transformers which will allow replacement in the event of failure.
How much does it cost to operate a neon sign?
Neon signs are extremely efficient. The reason they look so bright is that all of the output is focused within a small wavelength band of light. The average neon sign only consumes about .8 amps ( 8 tenths of an amp). This equates to about 96 watts (about equal to a single light bulb). The average cost to operate your neon sign is only about 20 cents per day (if you operate it 24 hours per day).
Can I order neon tubing to be installed directly onto my wall?
We currently offer a Custom Wall Art option which is available on most of our Custom Artistic Neon Signs. This installation type is much more involved than that of our standard hanging neon signs, and it will require that a qualified electrician be available to help with the install process. Can I place my neon sign outdoors?
Most of the standard neon signs shown on our website are designed for indoor use. They can be used outdoors as long as they are fully protected from rain (including blowing rain), dew, snow, and ice. Examples would be outdoors under a porch roof or mounted up high under a significant roof overhang. We do manufacture Outdoor Neon Signs which are designed to withstand the elements. You can convert almost any of our standard indoor signs into a UL Listed, Outdoor model for an additional $219.00. Do you ship your products to Canada?
Most of our products currently cannot be shipped to Canada with the following exceptions
1. All Canada orders must be placed directly with one of our Sales Staff over the phone as our website will not process these orders. All Canadian shipments will require an individual shipping quote which must be done by our Sales Department and you can reach them at 336-429-5010.
2. Our Shipping Damage Policy is different for any outgoing shipments to Canada. We are no longer able to have any damaged shipments picked up, and returned to our warehouse for repair or replacement. We take special packaging precautions to eliminate the possibility of any sign damage in transit, but if for some reason a sign shipped to Canada arrives damaged, our only solution will be for us to ship out replacement glass (at no charge, contains detailed instructions) to the original delivery destination. It will be the customer's responsibility to replace any broken glass units on the sign.
Do you ship your products to locations outside of the US?
Unfortunately, we only ship out our products within the Contiguous US, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. For shipments to Alaska and Hawaii call us for availability. The breakage rate on these outside shipments is far too high, making the chance of safe delivery of our neon signs outside the US very low.
Can you combine your neon signs to ship together in order to save on shipping charges?
No, all of our neon sign shipments must be individually packaged in their specially designed packaging, to ensure that your neon signs arrive to you in great condition. We have spent years perfecting the shipping process for our neon signs, and our breakage rate is currently less than 2% of all outgoing sign shipments.
Do you charge an order cancellation fee?
All canceled orders may be subject to a $25.00 Cancellation Fee if your order is canceled after the payment has already been processed. This fee does not apply to returns under the 30 day Satisfaction Guarantee.
Can I pay for my neon sign using C.O.D?
We do not ship any of our products out Collect on Delivery, all orders must be pre-paid. We accept all major credit cards, check, or you can also make a payment to us via Paypal if you would like.
Why do you charge a design fee?

How long is the warranty on my sign?
All of the Neon Signs that are manufactured by Jantec will have a full 1 year warranty which covers the glass against any defects, and also all electrical components from failure within the first year of ownership.
